Step 1 - Creating the File PSTables

eZ_Reports needs to have access to a list of all PowerSchool table names and field names.  This list is maintained in the file PSTables.txt.  Since each implementation of PowerSchool is slightly different, you will need to create this file.  Three steps are need to accomplish this:

NOTE - This process should be preformed anytime PowerSchool does an update that adds or changes the standard fields or if you add custum fields.

Part 1 - Getting the standard fields

A - Startup PowerSchool in your browser.

B - Add "?ac=structure" to the end of the url of any PowerSchool page. Hit the <Enter> key on the keyboard or the [Go] button on the browser.

C - You should see a page that looks like this:

D - Save this file in your "eZ_Reports" folder with the name "Structure.txt".

      Go to [File] --> [SaveAs...]

     Change to your eZ_Reports folder in the "Save in:" drop down box.
     Change the "Save as type:" drop down box to "Text File (*.txt)".
     Enter the filename "Structure.txt" in the "File name:" drop down box.
     Click the "Save" button.

Part 2 - Getting the custom fields

Getting the custom fields requires that you upload a Reporting Engine Report to PowerSchool, run the report and save the output back to your eZ_Reports folder.

A - Start PowerSchool

B - Go to "Reports".

C - Go to "Reporting Engine".

D - Go to "Load One Local Report".

E - Click on the "Browse" button.

F - Move the "Look in:" drop down box to your "eZ_Reports" folder.
      Select the file "Export_Custom_Fields.rpt".
      Click the "Open" button.

G - Next click on the "Import" button.

H - Click the "Back" button on the completed page.
I - Return to the Reporting Engine page by clicking on the "Reporting Engine" link.

J - Find and click on the "Export Custom Fields" link.

K - Scrool dowm to the bottom of the form and click the "Submit" button.

L - Click on the "Submit" button on the "Save as Local File" screen

M - Click the "Save" button on the File Download dialog box.

N - Change the "Save in:" drop down box to your eZ_Reports folder.
      Change the "File name:" from "CustomFields.text" to "CustomFields.txt"
      (Remove the e in text)
      Change the "Save as type:" to "All Files"
      Click the "Save" button.

Part 3 - Run eZ_Structure

A - The first time you run eZ_Reports you should see the following message.  Click the "OK" button to run eZ_Structure.

B - When the eZ_Structure window appears, click on the "Create" button.

C - After the two list boxes get populated with file names and field names, click the "Quit" button.

D - If eZ_Structure did not open automatically, or if you need to update the files PSTables, Startup eZ_Tools. Then click on the "Setup and Advanced Features" button.

E - Now click on the "Start eZ_Structure" button.  Then go back to step B above.
